What we collect
The guide pages do not require accounts or forms unless a later config adds them. Cloudflare may provide standard platform logs and optional cookieless Web Analytics when enabled.
Fonts and scripts
Fonts are self-hosted with the site build when the template ships them that way. Third-party installers are not injected into the page body.
Outbound downloads
When you install GIMP, your client talks to download.gimp.org, gimp.org, or Microsoft winget services. Those parties have their own privacy policies.
Rights requests
Use contact for privacy questions about this publisher site. Upstream project channels: gimp.org/develop.
Installer discipline
Confirm App Installer from Microsoft when the package manager command is missing. Reopen Terminal after App Installer lands, then retry the documented line. Checksums, when published, live next to assets on the official downloads page. Read COPYING on gimp.org before you redistribute a modified build under GPL terms.
Prefer one install door per PC so Start Menu shortcuts stay honest after upgrades. Softonic-style wrappers that rename the setup are the wrong door. When fleet policy wants a manual setup.exe, take it from the same official downloads line winget already wraps.
Sample then deepen
Keep the first pass short. Open a disposable JPEG, crop once, and Export As into a folder you control. Change layers only when the sample needs a second pass you can undo. Large composites can wait until one export looks right in a viewer that is not GIMP.

When something fails
If GIMP is missing from Start, confirm the setup finished and avoid downloading a second renamed installer. If export looks wrong, reopen the project file rather than stacking JPEG on JPEG. Safety and first-run guides deepen those checks without inventing competitor prices.
SmartScreen may warn on a freshly downloaded setup.exe. Prefer files that match official downloads or winget. Stop if a page asks you to disable protections for an unknown publisher before the official package arrives.
